By now most of you have probably heard about CBD or Cannabidiol, one of the least psycho-active cannabinoid chemicals in the Cannabis plant. It makes up approximately 40% of the marijuana plant, give or take. The great things about CBD are:
It has no psycho-active properties (in other words, it does not get you “high”)
It has been shown in scientific studies to reduce pain
It has proven ability to reduce anxiety and depression
It has anti-inflammatory phytochemicals
It appears to be useful in the treatment of epilepsy / seizure disorders
CBD is legal in most states and situations. Here is a state by state guide book (https://cbdschool.com/cbd-laws-by-state-2017-guide/). Please check this resource to learn your state's laws.
Please note: we do not sell CBD or related products.
IMPORTANT: there are three types of CBD extract:
Full Spectrum Extracts - other cannabinoids including the psycho-active element THC are present in these extracts. The THC can build up in your system over time and can possibly show up as positive for THC / marijuana use on drug tests.
Isolated Extracts - these are supposed to be primarily CBD only, but will sometimes contain up to .01 - .03% THC, so they are not 100% pure CBD. As a result, THC can build up in your system over time. This potential build up makes these products unsafe if you are being drug tested for any reason.
Pure Extracts - There are 100% pure CBD extracts on the market. If you want or need to be certain that you have 0% THC in your system, I recommend this CBD category. of course, this extract is the most expensive as it requires more processing to produce 100% pure extract.
Currently, I highly recommend only one 100% CBD product. This product is 100% CBD and 0% THC and available from The CBD Boutique. The CBD Boutique is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, (505) 266-6238, www.thecbdboutique.com. They will be happy to explain the benefits of their guaranteed 100% pure CBD extract. If I become aware of another truly pure CBD product, I will update my blog.
A note on dosage: generally speaking, though plant based medicine is not an exact science, the serving dosage for CBD is .25 (1/4) x body weight of the individual = grams / day , divided by 2 - 4, depending on your personal needs. Used in excess it can make you sleepy.
